Great trip Ade i was there a couple of years ago but didn't get to see as much as you !!
Yes John a Strabucks now stands proudly next to the Brandenburg gate !!!
The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )
1st July 1916
Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
Thanks ADE for the great trip , wish I could have stayed there for a month, the shows & food are EXCELLENT... its so big that folks who live in south Berlin have never been to north Berlin
Great pics. Very interesting stuff.
Hi Ade , these are super photos , it is a great city to visit ! Seeing your snaps of the Brandenburg Gates reminded me of when i was working in East Germany in the early nineties up on the Baltic in Rostock and Warnemunde and if you think it gets cold in the winter over here you want to try it there in february We used to fly into Tegel airport , get a cab through to the east side , and get a train up to the coast . In those day`s you could still drive through the Brandenburg Gates but i believe it been padestrianized now ,
Great thread Ade, i liked Berlin.
I believe the owner of bunkermuseum you showed earlier lost his license and had to close in 2008.
Hi Guys, interesting to see this old thread again: thanks for the comments.
The museum in post 46 has also now closed as the buildings new owners pulled the plug on it.
