If you travel I 10 along the Gulf Coast...you will drive by the USS Alabama...sister ship to the South Dakota. It was purchased by Alabama School Children in the late 1950s and early 1960s bringing in change amongst other donations and towed from Bremen Washington through the Panama Canal to Mobile Bay. The collection of planes were badly damaged during Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina with many of them floating around inside a museum hanger bashing each other....no matter...do not miss this sight if you are on the Gulf Coast...or the redneck Riviera. Oh....and the USS Drum...gato class sub...is on display as well.
