As part of the series documenting my recent visit to the battlefields of Russia. The following are a few brief photo's from my visit to the southern attack of the Kursk salient. We followed the route taken by Liebstandarte Adolf Hitler towards Prokhorovka.

Hi Harry, sadly not. Always a problem when you travel with hand luggage only. Would have been fun trying to explain to customs on the way out. I got the third degree with just a .50 casing I found on the northern part of the salient.

Hello SK and thanks for the comment. Although I had very little time to look for militaria to bring home I found nothing earlier then mid cold war stuff for sale. Possibly this is as a result of the 70 year rule.

    Hello Paul,

The battle itself was described by Bob Kershaw rather than local guides. The specifics centred around the actions on Ribbentrop ridge, the advance to this point and the tactics used by the German forces and engaging Soviet forces.

Was wondering if Bob gave the old version or the real version about the Battle at Prokhorovka on the 12th July ? Hopefully the real version !!
