Our little memorial in Georgetown Tasmania. It's located in the Max Harris (ex Japanese POW,Changi,Burma Railway,Japan) Reserve across from the local RSL club.
The plaque is in memory of my grandfather,Kenneth Maxwell Ackerly TX14451 and is attached to the memorials base.
Pop passed in 2007,may god bless him.

This memorial to the Gordon Highlanders was put up in Aberdeen, October 2011. The 'modern' soldier is a reminder of the troops who served in the Northern Ireland conflict, a time that British politicians seem too keen to erase out of history. It is good that the local City authorities here think otherwise.
