1st Parachute Battalion 1943

Article about: Here are some items i got today allfrom Africa 1943 to a Lt J.M.Barnes 954191 1 Batalion parachute regiment. Airgraphs have bits of info P 'COY' AAC B.N.A.F on one and General hospital M.E.F

    The guy listed is 4th battalion and has totally different service number or could that change also??

    Definitely wrong guy his rank is Major

    Service numbers will not change: so it is the wrong chap.

    Not him then. His service number is quite long so I wonder if he was promoted from the ranks.

    I have the book "Tunisian Tales; The 1st Parachute Brigade in North Africa 1942-43" by Niall Cherry. It has an extensive list of names, but no one named Barnes, officer or o/r.
