Default '44 Dated Denison Smock prices

    Hi,

Does anyone have a rough idea of what dealers & private seller prices are currently for 1944 marked Denison Smocks?

I guess this age would make it a second pattern with regular non knitted cuffs, ½ zip and brass Newey poppers.

I’d be after a non mint / combat worn condition, but not a relic.

Any pointers to good web sites for comparison pics etc would be greatly received

    Thanks all….

Thanks guys, so a price of £580 is a little over the top, but I guess it may be negotiable.

Any thoughts if this type of smock (I presume it’s a second pattern if I have my description’s right) would have been used at Arnhem. I’ve not seen any conclusive pictures from my quick look round the web & but I did find a web site that indicated that it was unlikely that they were.
I’m always wary of buying airborne stuff, to little knowledge & too many fakes… 

That is a second pattern smock. Used in Arnhem is very small numbers.

    Cheers, Adee.

Hi – Thanks all for you posts so far.

    I managed to get a better look and a couple of pictures of the smock today. It’s got the following details;

Brass Newey poppers marked 201436-22, most of them are showing signs of age, some look white in the photos, but they are not nickel, just suffering from some corrosion that I guess would clean up.

A Zipp marked “Gripper Zipper” – that's a new one on me

A label showing it was made by L Silberston & Son Ltd 1944

The camo looks quite strong, but there are quite a few wear marks, the cuffs and bottom seams are worn through in places & there are some holes from wear (not moth).

So all in all not in mint condition, but its perhaps its got more of a character for it.

Given the photos below, does £500 upwards still sound OK, or would the condition reduce this. Not buying to sell on to make a profit, but don’t want to waste money.

Thanks chaps, hopefully the images are all working below…

Hi, I have loaded the pics correctly to your post for you.

It is original, condition is the only issue. I would prefer one a bit better, if it were me. Price, well they never seem to go down......

    Cheers, Ade.
