Airborne helmet

Hi...
This is a helmet i recently found here in Copenhagen...
Its allmost mint...
If you have more information about this helmet feel free to give them to me
I dont know anything about this area of collection...
Here is some pictures

There is some stamps in the helmet:
59 (?)
BMB (?)
1941 (Year)
7 1/4 (Size)

Something not quite right about this one...for a start airborne lids dont have a cross pad screwed into the crown.And im sure if it is a genuine helmet then one this early should have a fibre rim on the steel shell.
I'm thinking the liner and straps are genuine but the lid?..not sure.Is there a bolt on top of the helmet?Does the shell have any markings stamped inside?Usually found near the inside front.

It could of course be postwar modifications.Do a search on this site for HSAT.

Hi,
Cant tell you much about the helmet itself, probably late airborne, but the markings inside BMB is for Briggs Motor Bodies, they had a contract through W.W 2 to make helmets,

I have posted a picture of the bolt at the top. And there is two bolts at the back of the helmet...
Sorry, but no stamps inside of the helmet.....

Looks like a conversion of a tankers helmet, probably post war done. Can you show the 1941 date on the liner, as I can't see it clearly. also it should only have the imperial size markings not the metric as well (71/4 = 59cm), so might be done for Belgium or somewhere like that after the war, but using war time parts. Certainly not a text book example IMHO.

Yes I can read it now, thanks!!!!

It is an early date, so maybe the mkI para helmet is different to how I thought they were, but I still think it should not have both imperial and metric sizing and the central dome fixing point and I still suspect that makes it a post war reissue.
