    It is too bad people don't know/don't care about a family member's service, but it happens. You got a nice lot, it is good that you saved it.

    Great items Dave, good to see you saved them from an uncaring Vet's family.

    A related item I thought you might like to see, a copy of Commando by Brigadier John Durnford-Slater, commander of No.3 commando, signed by him with a dedication,

    'To Karl,

    No hard feelings'

    and dated 1976. I got it from a charity shop in Cardiff about 10 or more years back.

    Are there any references as to whether these men were on the Campbelltown or in the MLs, at the time of the raid

    thanks guys, and thats a great find Jerry thanks for showing, i have now found out that the guy i got this stuff from just found this stuff in his deceased fathers house and it appears that the commando mr Rolfe was not his father,he told me his father was in the war but knows nothing of what he did ,bit of a mystery ,, rgds Dave
