Help with dennison needed

A friend has had this for at least 15 years and was bought for pennies when such things were just a nice item.
The neck is all buttons and top two are not affixed through lining and look original,condition is unworn,there is no sewn on label and doesnt appear to have ever been one,printing is very faded on ink stamp.
I would be very interested to hear your thoughts,thanks Colin.

The wing looks added, ...... and from what I believe, when the collar is buttoned, there is more chance of it being a marine issue ... possibly due to corrosion through more use in a wet enviroment.

The wings look newer and are as already suggested an add on and look to be fairly modern compared to the smock. Not an expert on smocks but it looks in very nice condition.

As you say the badges are later additions,he used to do reinacting.

hello mate . has it got any poppers on the rear to hold up the tail at all . if it has not its a first pattern smock

hello . we need to see the reverse of the smock . it should have two press studs on the rear to hold the tail in place

This is a modification done by Belgium paras who used British surplus smocks after the war.

That thought crossed my mind with the buttons in place of the zip.

i bought a smock similar at beltring years ago and it was a first pattern with these mods on it . notice how the front is one piece material as on first patterns ...

still a good find ....
