Yes they were cut off, but the body had some repair panels there.

Will try to find a closer picture, to see if they did cut in to the side panel or if they did cut down in the step.
Do want to do my best when making repair panel and weld it on the Jeep!
I do think my left step are orginal to this Jeep...

Adrian... Are your Jeep orginal with the Vickers Machine Gun mount on the dash?
I think i have those holes in my dash...
Are there any place like Photobucket with a lot of pictures of your great Jeep!?
There are so little info/pictures on the internet with British Airborne Jeeps!
And no one that are closed up pictures!
I´m also searching for where i could drill for the footman loops on the hood/bonnet and for the cable drum holder on hood/bonnet.
The hood/bonnet on my Jeep are a Willys with no holes for those parts.
It have been new on the Jeep before it have been in Palestina.
I do have holes for the footman loops on the dash.
Are the footman loops special for British or are they ordinary US style?

Hi Emil, my Jeep was never fitted with an Vickers K gun mounting.

Daft as it seems, I have very few decent pics of my Jeep. Most of these are proper photos and not digital and really don't show the details.

I have the plans for where to drill the cable drum holder: but as my Jeep originally had it I can just measure that. The footman loops used on the bonnet are standard US ones.

Oh... i did think it was your Jeep at the last picture...
I will order the Machine gun mount on dash this summer from: British Airborne - WW2 Fabrications
And a Vickers also...
When i have time after my restoration of the British Airborne Radio Jeep, i will make more pics of parts/places and holes!
Most holes are still on my Jeep... some welded but will drill them up again.
My Ab Jeep was not planned... so after it´s finished i will start with my Ford GP 1941 that i trowed out from my warm place in my garage...

The items on the A/B Fabrications site are nicely made, but wrongly captioned. The spare wheel mount and bumper are NOT first pattern. These were the final pattern designed in March 1945.

I actually located all the original drawings in the National Archives (then called the Public Records Office) long before they were widely published.
