Para beret WW2

I think this to be a correct WW2 issue beret.
The naming inside the diamond looks to be British Beret Basque LTD and dated 1944 but it is very faded. There is though the WD stamp inside the rim with a Z which according to the table also indicates 1944. The para wings have been stitched on more recently it seems but there is evidence of earlier stitching and beneath them it looks like two holes have been made for the lugs of the cap badge. Not sure if they are war time issue though.
Quite faded and moth eaten ... but came from a shed clearance on a local carboot last year so did not break the bank

What is this stitching circled in red?

Obviously as you no doubt well know, they never had the wings sewn to them, done post war, perhaps by the veteran himself.

Thanks for the reply Jerry unfortunately can not open images on my phone so will have a look when online tmrww .. and I think the idea of post war addition of the wings is most likely and has been suggested on the badge forum where I was able to view the excellent thread on identifying WW2 berets

Have you tried gently wetting the makers logo as that will often bring the markings out.

I cannot see anything obviously wrong with it
