Is it silver plated, and then polished? to make it less shiny in the field?
Or were they produced this way?
    Cheers

They were sometimes silver or nickel plated, which can tarnish

When I got this badge it was very straight and new. The colour Wasn't "aged" or worn but appeared new from factory.
I showed it to some other collectors during the Market Garden weekend, and they all thought is was to new.
Traded it with the seller for a good example!
