The sas badge shown in first post is a replica indeed. The one above this post looks good. Metal badges were introduced in 70/80 ties only.
The only brass sas badges in ww2 were made in the desert in very limited edition 50-100 by REME outfitters in Kabrit and look very different. The late Len Withakers book Some Talk of Private Armies has pics of these.

Very nice it would be awsome if you would share some detailed images and any information /providence that you have for your LRDG and SAS items I for one am very interested in said items and any items from LRDG are quite rare in my part of the world

Hi Mark,
Rest assured the are rare in ANY part of the world :-) and i have been lucky to acquire some good original pieces. It also comes to focusing on one area an knowing what is good and bad. The SAS badge depicted ie even harder to find as are the slip ons.
Cheers

I have only ever seen one original LRDG cap badge come up for sale in the last few years and it went for a very high price.
