Smock, Denison, Airborne Troops.

Here's a smock that was used by an Canadian lieutenant, & has been altered to suit him. It has two pockets added to the arms which were once on an oversmock, he has undone the stitching on the back to make a poachers pocket which he closed with a cuff link. The wings have been over painted green as has all the brass press studs & the two pips on the shoulders.
Which makes me think he was on an night jump, (D/Day perhaps) It looks like an grenade pull ring on the zip?

A very interesting find indeed Aaron I am quite envious and the wife has asked me to move so she could lay down a ground sheet to keep the drool off of her floor.
The Modifications of the pockets and over painting of the buttons,wings and rank pips are awesome it would shur appear to have been worn in the ETO
The wings look spot on according to Into the Maelstrom by Ken Joyce the variation sewn on the front of the smock indeed are Canadian manufactured

The elasticated added pocket looks to have been "transplanted" off the throw away sleeveless airborne oversmock.
