    Your suspicions are correct it is a new made overseas cap as offered here. WWII Impressions U.S. Army Cap, Garrison, Wool, Serge, OD

    Sorry for the not great news. Glad it wasn't to much. These companies are making the future dark for collectors weather they mean to or not. Good thing there is always someone here that knows more than me! That was also a good eye on that tag.

    A reproduction but if you got it for the right price it is still worth something to a reactor

    As already mentioned, this is not an original cap. However, WWII Impressions is considered by many to be the premier maker of WWII USGI reproduction uniforms for reenactors and the film industry. All of their items are made in the USA while other companies tend to import the majority of their stuff from overseas.

    This cap is very well made and is in a nice size. I'm sure a reenactor would love to have it and you can at least get some of your money back.
