was wondering if these are original wwii 506th oval and jump wings
The first thing I notice is that the oval has never been sewn on a tunic so I wonder why the wings are on it.
Could you remove the wings for a flat picture of the oval ?
The wings are what I believe to be WWII.
Thanks
As Steve says, the oval looks too new. I believe the sterling marked
pin-back wings are WWII era as well..........

Steve.
A few minutes ago I mixed up the FSSF oval with the 506th oval so I am correcting this post.
It is obvious that my recent shit for brains transplant was completely successful.

The oval is correct for the 506th Steve, but I think we are
still unsure about it being a WWII type............!

Steve.
With all the hype over the 506th - and the 101st in general - because of a
couple of recent Hollywood productions, the price for these insignia
and other associated items has sky-rocketed.
If you can buy it for the price of the Para badge alone, it would be
worth it. I mean about $25 to $40. My guess is that it will have
an over-inflated price because of the attached oval
- genuine or not.........
Regards,
Steve.
Gents, the oval shown is post war, the wings wartime..Airborne oval backgrounds that were worn during the WW2 differ from more modern ones in that they have a more narrow border and that they often are more "football" shaped than "racetrack" shaped. Still a nice badge wether wartime or not !
Prost ! Steve.
