I would say it's a safe bet that the BAC stands for British Aircraft Corporation. I'm only familiar with their civilian airliner series, I don't know much about their military wares.

If I had to guess I would say the customer was Boeing Airplane Company which had a plant close by.
No idea on this sorry.
But a date of 1948 would put this outside of BAC's (British) timeframe, as they were not formed until 1960, so it will be Boeing as Gary thought.

Wow, you're right as usual Ade. I googled it and they didn't start until 1960. I could have swore they were around in 1948. Oh well, live and learn. BAC had a great plane in the one eleven.
