I could have spent days in the Palm Springs Aviation Museum. The volunteers at the museum were extremely helpful in describing these fantastic allied planes from the European and Asian theatres of war.
The P40 Warhawk, used extensively against Rommel in North Africa and Italy. This is the same type of aircraft recently found in the Sahara in Egypt.
The P51 Mustang Red Tail used by the Tuskegee Airmen, the red tail on this one is autographed by the airmen.
The B-17G Flying Fortress, really cool!!!
and my all time favourite, The Supermarine Spitfire MKXIV
The P47 Thunderbolt, Mitchell B25J and the Corsair FG1D.....the gull wings are designed to keep the prop high off the ground
