Low flying Spit ?

When I was looking for the B 29 video, this caught my eye.

I have to say, even watching the video makes me duck !

TOTALLY SUPERB !

If anyone ever asks what people 'see' in the Spitfire, show them this.

The Spitfire (MH434) was being flown by the master himself, Ray Hanna. The presenter, Alan DeCadenet (I think thats the right spelling) briefed Ray, saying he wanted a low pass.

Ray promptly obliged by gaining flying speed and retracting the undercart....and staying at that level for the run in before pulling up over Alan. . Makes me laugh to see alan looking behind to see if any more are coming !. Absolute classic

I think the good commentator had to get some clean skivvies after that experience. According to his language at least I am sure he didn't mean THAT low of a pass. Danny

I love it. "F%&k me!" would be the standard response to that experience for anyone, including a nun.

Resurecting and old thread to show this example of low flying. It's lower than the Spit at an estimated altitude of 1 metre! Nearly killing a couple of the guys on the ground.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's an Argie jet trainer. Whatever, just take a look (It's better through fingers!!)

Ive seen this low flying spit many times and it always makes me laugh, its a typical Ray Hanna stunt but it goes to show what an amazing pilot he was, i met his son Mark many years ago and he was nearly as good, shame they are no longer here, they were two of the best Spitfire display pilots in the world
