    I guess it makes a difference which air force it is flown by, but from what I've read it was a very basic plane, not as sophisticated as the F-86

    Both aircraft were very basic, no advanced electronics or 'fly by wire' controls-in some respects such as the 6 x .50 cal MG armament the F86 lagged behind Soviet practice of having a heavy cannon armament.

    The technology of the jet engine and Frank Whittle's entire development of it was given freely by Britain to both the U.S. and Soviets post WW2. Both of the engines in the two aircraft here are therefore related, and of the same family as it were.

    A nice picture of some MiG-15`s in North Vietnam AF markings,if you look at the third plane down it has different markings and a different tail assembly,can anyone else tell what it is?.....Pete.
