Many of you have posted some GREAT museum photos which I have greatly enjoyed, and I wanted to return the favor with some shots of the USAF Museum at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton Ohio. For this who haven't had the chance to visit this museum, here are some photos. It is by far the best Aircraft Museum in the United States, even beating out the Smithsonian, which is superb also. You can spend a full day and still not see all of the aircraft they have, and the B-17 Memphis Belle is being restored here for display. Once that is done, my understanding is that the current B-17G will be moved to Udvar Hazy (Smithsonian Annex) near Dulles Airport in Virginia, and the Belle will take her place at Wright Pat. This museum covers aviation in the USAF from the beginning up through current day, and includes Nuclear Deterrent displays from the Cold War era. I had many photos, and sorry about them not all being in order… I am still figuring this posting thing out. I hope those who have an interest in military aircraft enjoy these and maybe get the chance to visit this museum. If you attend the SOS in Louisville Kentucky, it is a short drive away.
