WW1 DH 4 Comms Box

Here is a little item I picked up a couple of months ago. It is the box that allowed comms between the Pilot and Bomb Aimer/gunner on a WW1 DH 4, the box has all the brass tags on it and is in great shape, However it has been gutted and is empty. Still a Nice Display Piece.

A most interesting piece - though a great pity it has been gutted.

I'm assuming it has been refinished?

I did nothing to this box, and others I have seen photos of, look very much the same..so I think this is as it was.

Sorry for the very late reply.

I'm not for the minute suggesting that you did anything to the box, it's just that all others that I've seen have crazing to the finish.

However, this is the first that I've seen with a Serial Number and bearing in mind that there were only about 3 900 Units produced - congratulations with this pick up.
