    The small 'w' is the MM for Karl Wurster of Markneukirchen. It's the small block variant with a as already stated replaced catch.
    'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
    We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
    It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

    Here's a pic of my tombak Wurster Panzerkampf Abzeichen 'Massif', the only solid tombak badge produced during the 3rd Reich. Note the same early small 'w' MM on the top left that was later replaced with the well known stylized 'KWM' logo.

    A nice massive Wurster ASA, with a repaired catch. Not always easy to find & apart from the re-attached catch it's in good nick. Congrats Stewy
