In the future, I will post both front and back of badges. It is a habit to start looking at the back of a badge first for me. I can tell more about a badge by its hinge, pin and catch. Many of the good fakes the fronts take a more experienced collector to make a call. Hopefully one day a get to that point.
Big Ned,
Thankk you for your insight on the number box. I never would have seen that in a million years. Another final nail in the coffin on this badge.
Note: This badge is for sale with a top tier vendor right now.

"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

Hi MAP, I thank you also for all your knowledgeable calls on items I post. This vendor, he has been in the hobby for many years. I know he claims badges and medals are not his expertise. I get that but on very high end badges some due diligence is required. He could be moving to the status of the used car dealer you would never buy from. He is in the US out of NJ. Does that narrow it down some? This badge is still listed for sale on his web site as of today, $2,500. I noticed that he in his long description; beautiful badge, hard to come by, does he ever say that badge is "ORIGINAL" . Maybe on purpose IMO.

Who?
He 'specialises' in daggers and has been criticised on here before. Frank did not like his video clip assessment of SS helmets (and rightly so).
He states on his site "All artifacts, unless otherwise stated, are offered with a lifetime (mine!), money-back warranty as to authenticity."

Hi Nick,
You are spot on with who the vendor is. As to the money back warranty, I have yet to find someone who will not give your money back when you find they sold you a bogus TR Item and confront them about it. I look at it like if you buy a Porsche from a dealer you expect it to not be a replica.
I am not trashing dealers, I see some with some great TR items on the web. If we buyers all have to do our homework, so should the dealers.
