I've always been a bit lairy of this particular obverse design in the semi hollow form, but it is generally accepted now as a type variant (the early type 1.9.2. hollow zinc badge design) that carried over into the later semi hollow design (respectively types 1.9.3 Die 'A' and 1.9.4 Die 'B', each being slightly different in design.) There is also a type 1.9.5 Block hinge set up to deal with. On that criteria the badge appears good.

Thanks, that makes me feel a bit better about my purchase. My knowledge is mainly in the guns and holsters but I like to have some items that display well.
