Just a guess, but is the small plate behind the hinge a bit of a no-no?

Cheers guys. I had a feeling this was too good to be true and these Staegemier fakes are so damn good.
I'm always a bit suspicious of sellers who use these arty photos to sell their wares.

A good point regarding the photo styles. everyone likes to see straight on shots.

Exactly, whether a dealer selling an item or a forum member needing something authenticating, it's always worth reminding folks that the photos provided are the key to anyone being able to help.by R M Militaria

the african hero strikes again..lol...hate the guy , but you have to admire his work .it gets better and better. the box is a nice touch and would fool many novice collectors....cheers paul
