Hello all. I was wondering if there is any way to identify an unmarked General Assault Badge. (Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). And is it a real example? It is more silver than the pictures show. Thanks!

To be honest, I would pass on this one. I don't particularly like the detail levels, the colour of the badge alarms me also. I have seen repro badges that have been artificially aged and this is the way they turn out. There are what looks like casting spots on the reverse, and whats with the weird solder marks around the hinge? To many ifs and buts for me personally.
The detail around the eagle claws looks soft to me also, but RM, where are the casting spots on the reverse you are referring to? If a casting is suspected I look for pinholes where the hot gases have escaped during the casting process, I can't see any of these?
Here are some more pictures with more accurate color. The others were taken without flash and imparted a golden color that is not at all accurate.
Weight: 32g
Width: 42.9mm
Height: 53.2mm
Thickness: 4.08mm
All parts are non-magnetic. There are some slight traces of silver finish on the obverse, around the bayonet tip.

Original zinc "half moon hinge plate" variant by unknown maker.
János, thank you for your assistance. I appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge!
I've only seen Deumer IAB and GAB's with half moon catch, but this maker still not.
