Article about: Hi, I am the owner of Gottfried Geissler's Knights Cross. It was an awful shame the group was broken up. If anyone has any details on how he won his RK and other photographs I would be grate
Here is part of my Sturmgeschutz related collection,
This Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen was part of the estate of Major Gottfreid Geissler a famous Sturmgeschutz Officer.
Geissler was awarded the Knights Cross for combat in Estonia in 1941, his Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen was awarded for the same series of combat actions. At this time he was an Oberleutnant in Sturmgeschutz Abteilung 185.
The badge is of solid make , in zinc and was made by the maker Weidemann.

Paul

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
Unfortunately i was only able to get the one award , i was hoping for his Iron Crosses as well but they went elsewhere
I'm still waiting for his Knights Cross
regards
Paul
