Found this great photo on the "worldwide Interweb" of what was described as 'scrapped panthers in Normandy' .......I think it looks like one of the scrapyards in the Falaise gap ( maybe the one in Trun? ) .... and there are more Mk III's and IV's than mk V's anyway.
Anyway I hadn't seen it before and the resolution was so good I thought I would show it here for us all to drool over .........

An interesting thing ( I thought ) was the Panther in the front - it looks like maybe a brew up and the zimmerit is mostly gone from the turret. I read somewhere that the shock wave of internal ammunition explosions would blast the concrete-like paste off the surface metal - what a way to go, at least it would have been quick!
