    Default scrap glorious scrap!!!!

Found this great photo on the "worldwide Interweb" of what was described as 'scrapped panthers in Normandy' .......I think it looks like one of the scrapyards in the Falaise gap ( maybe the one in Trun? ) .... and there are more Mk III's and IV's than mk V's anyway.

Anyway I hadn't seen it before and the resolution was so good I thought I would show it here for us all to drool over .........

I think we all have a common wish to find such a yard today. I would have one parked on my front lawn with no hesitation.

An interesting thing ( I thought ) was the Panther in the front - it looks like maybe a brew up and the zimmerit is mostly gone from the turret. I read somewhere that the shock wave of internal ammunition explosions would blast the concrete-like paste off the surface metal - what a way to go, at least it would have been quick!
