Hi Diver 99 , being in Dorset you must be aware of the three tanks we have in Bournemouth Bay out towards Studland. These were lost as amphibious vehicles during live training on the Studland Heath Area pre D Day??

The valentine's have been know for a long long time. One is a complete wreck as i believe the navy blew it apart to retrieve and detonate the shells inside as it is very tight to move around in scuba gear. Others have been stripped bare i think.

As to the Centaurs, they have also been known about at least since the 70's. They were just forgotten again. I spoke to a salvage company about them, and they knew about them. It just makes a good newspaper story about 'lost tanks'.

Tony Pearson the man with amphib Valentine. He retrieved the tank from a scrapyard and like the bionic man, he can rebuild it.
