    i ;ve not seen eny allied tanks recovered here so i thought i 'd post this small link abot a sherman pulled out of the a bog near a town callled Bitterfeld. theres just 2 photos and i can't find enything more about it but it looked intresting,maybe some one knows more about this tank.

    The site didn't have much to add to it either. Interesting. Like you said,not too many Allied (American,British)tanks seem to be recovered as German and Russian. But Russia can swallow up a lot and things had more places to get lost.

    You can find these two photos on a site www.theserpentwall.com The woman who maintains the site is a relic collector amateur historian in the Kiev area. I think there are supposedly more Shermans in this swamp.

    .....Well i couldn't go metal detecting with her that's for sure. How on EARTH would i concentrate ?

    Give me an ugly hairy bloke with excellent relic identification abilities to metal detect with anytime..........You free next week by the way Ade ?
