unidentified grenade

Article about: we were told that our grenade was ww1 turkish but it do not look like the one in the pic you have just sent.some more pics of ours attached

    hi can somebody help,we found this grenade part buried in the ground near to my home in the western isles.we have made enquires but noboby can identify it.

    I tried to look for one like it but no luck. Maybe there's one in this group.

    This is for sure is not a Mills grenade

    I think this might be it. Perhaps a Belguim practice grenade.

    It's a normally Mills bomb

    Not so sure there. It was labeled as Belgium practice grenade.

    I think the grenade itself is approx 1900's era, due of big hole- for the black powder, typical for the grenades of that period. We just can ask in which area you fond this.?
    If it's British, then it can be the Mills prototype

    It looks a bit like an ornament,Is that traces of gold paint on it?

    Looks like one of ther really early british grenades used around the time of waterloo, filled with black powder and a wick which passed through the loop on the side.....but could be wrong
