Jedem das Seine
Blanking plate?
Can we see the other side?
Is the block made of wood or bonded resin?
Style of stamping looks British. Does the bolt have a number?
Cheers
Gary
Interesting that it's got a nyloc nut on the bolt. I don't know how long ago they came into use, but I suppose it could have been put on at any time, not necessarily original.
Cheers, Willie.
Something just doesn't look right with that nut and bolt. It looks like a nyloc nut which would be incorrect for WW2 and the length looks too long with a course thread. It just looks wrong.
They did not have nyloc nuts in WWII, but they did have Fibreloc nuts. Both British and German aircraft used them.
Did they work along the same lines as the Nyloc? It just doesn't look right. The ally plate is fine, and the phenolic material looks Ok if not a little chunky but the nut and bolt....
Id still like to see a picture of the other side. Just because its an aircraft part doesn't mean its a ww2 aircraft part.
Cheers
Gary
Yes the fibreloc did work along the same lines as the nyloc.
