Hi guys, my opinion on restoring this is quite the opposite! Why restore it? It wont be the same plane? Keep it as a relic & maintain it to stop it rotting anymore. No-one finds a degrading EK2 and starts to paint it etc... Im not sure of others opinions but if restored, it will only be the frame used! the rest will be new, you may as well build a new plane!

There must be loads more aeroplanes on beaches all over the UK, if they crack the preservation process then maybe we can finally get a decent chunk of Short Striling relic from the channel. And does anyone know how the plans are coming on to raise the Short Sunderland from Pembroke dock?

.....not only a short sterling but how about a Halifax as well ?

Planes that are so often overlooked in the historical records of WW2.....
