Article about: Hello ! I just noticed this very interesting forum and would like to get your help. We just discovered a wheel which probably was used on an American or British tank or haftruck. Anybody out

    I just noticed this very interesting forum and would like to get your help.
    We just discovered a wheel which probably was used on an American or British tank or haftruck. Anybody out there able to answer this question ?
    I checked many pictures without success...

    From the markings it is definitely made in USA, awkward without dimensions. Looks like a tank road wheel.

    Could it be from a M3 Stuart?

    Thanks for first answers: please notice that the spokes are c u r v e d . Therefore I think it is not from a Stuard M3...

    The outside diameter is 48cm (only) and the rubber has a width of 6 cm about.

    Only other thing I can think of is from an M4/M5 recovery tractor, but that is only a guess.

    Where was it found?
    If it was me I would be shot blasting it and giving it a fresh coat of OD! Nice find.

    Yes, the Americans called it a T16, here is one under Canadian use.

    this is really great: my question only was about 20 hours online and here is the answer with pictures !!! THANKS A LOT !!!
    We found it near VAREL / GERMANY. This was Canadian territory.
    We will check if there will be more parts of this vehicle and let you know.
