Hi Matteo,
Cavenders 'Army Club' cigarettes were manufactured by Godfrey Phillips Ltd of London from before the first world war until after the second world war.The brand was not exclusive to the military as were brands like 'H.M' and the "Sandhurst Size' was just a sales gimmick.
The Cavenders brand was famous for it's cigarette cards, which were for sometime stereoscopic. A viewer could be purchased for looking at the cards in '3-D'. Other series were hand coloured, and all are excellent collectors items today due to their fine quality.
Although the 'Army Club' brand is now defunct, Cavenders other cigarette brands are still marketed in India by Godfrey Phillips India (GPI) which is now owned by the American company Philip Morris Inc.
Regards, Ned.
