Hi, the following pics are off a cockpit/front end only of a Lancaster called Old Fred. These are the only remains.

Great photos. A big aircraft but bloody cramped for the crew!...
was Hess's ME110 engine still there in IWM.
Gunny its properly in the lower ground floors, the archives, were all the good stuff is :-)
His plane crash landed nearby, and the tail section and one engine can be seen in the Imperial War Museum in London, while the other engine is in the Museum Of Flight in East Fortune, East Lothian

I saw the fuselage of Hess's BF110 last year at the restoration hangar at Duxford :-)

I too saw the remains of the BF110 at Duxford back in the 1980's. I know what the IWM used to be like, but if its now like the IWM North , then its just a large space with a minimalist look about it. The Cheshire Regiment museum in Chester is better presented than IWM North!.
Can you imagine sitting inside the nose, in the Pilots seat, at night when the lights are all off
I bet that would be one spooky night
Now I would love to do that..
