    Just got this off facebook:

"We regret to inform you that the Dornier lift has now been postponed until tomorrow, Monday 3rd of June. We will receive our next weather report at 01:00 hrs at which point we will decide what time to attempt tomorrow's lift. As soon as this has been communicated to us in the Museum, we will pass this news onto all our Facebook Fans. Thank you, all of you, for your messages of support this evening. We are as disappointed as you are that we are not able to to celebrate a successful lift with you this evening.

Essentially, the wind rose suddenly making the sea on which the platform was located choppy. If we had attached cables to the aircraft and tried to pull it up, it would have been shaken underwater like a rag doll by a petulant toddler. This would caused untold damage to the aircraft whilst endangering the divers. For us this was too great a risk.

So we have taken what we feel to be the prudent course of action and to try again tomorrow. Once again thank you for your comments and support. Kind regards from the RAFM."

    Thanks

    Danny

From The Royal Air Force Museum's facebook site:

Update on Dornier 17 Project : Tuesday 4th June

Our commitment to salvaging, conserving & displaying the Dornier 17 is on-going. Weather permitting, we will attempt another lift this week.

Winds at Ramsgate are still against us at the moment. As soon as it is clear that we are able to make another attempt we will inform people via our website and social media of this.

In the meantime, we would once again like to thank the public and our sponsors for their continued patience, support and understanding.
    Best Regards

    Vegard T.

It's got to be today surely, the weather is fantastic. Then again even on beautiful sunny days in England you can get fierce winds out at sea.
