Identifiying shell

I recently found this shell, on a place where the Americans fought against the Germans. The diameter is around 8 cm, but this could be a little bit different because the projectile hit something and is therefore a little bit deformed. Is this a solid AP round, and so is it not dangerous anymore?

I was thinking of a 76 mm AP round, the inside hole is hollow till in the point of the projectile, and it is one solid piece of metal.
