I don't know a lot about warbirds, but you could be right! The downed one that is the subject of this thread has what appears to be a radial engine in it. The one here in this wiki also has a radial engine, and this model apparently saw service with the RAF. These were known to be in Iran, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that that's what this is...
The trouble, though, is the exhaust ports in the plane in the thread here is in-line as opposed to not present in the wiki photos.

Here's the other one. I find it very worrying what the future holds for this aircraft. Note that already in this second video the ring sight in front of the windscreen appears to have already been ripped out. If it's gonna survive, action is required immediately...

Good bit of deep delving there Ian, i think that ensures case proven as to being the real deal, the desert does'nt have to be all sandstorms and high winds, like the movies, there are areas that see very little heavy sandstorm activity and a gentle wind can remove sand over time until very little remains, as we see with the rock being exposed
I really dont know, i think its a genuine find.
I dont think its possible to reproduce or model that damage and the burned paint.
Is there any more info about the plane?
Hi Nuno, checkout the videos, at post 33 & 35.
Cheers, Ade.
