My latest groundfinds

Article about: All the shells found look to me like 75mm ww1 french shrapnel shells. The 'fatter' cartridge is from a French Lebel, and the others appear to be 7.92mm German K98 cartidges. Nice lot there!

    Hi Squadra 33,

    Just a thought, but these old shells you found are empty of explosives I take it

    If not, or your not sure, please don't try and dismantle or clean them. Even items nearly a 100 years old still explode and kill people. I don't want to scare you, but thought someone should mention it

    A is the fuse from a French 75mm from WW1 .
    The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )
