Me and my friend flew down to Germany for some detecting in the Ruhr area

Think its some sort of detonator from a grenade or artillery shell, dangerous probably
Some very old thing i think
I'd love some info on that one. I've found several in Korea from that war. It's not from a 20mm or mortar from
what I can tell and it seems pretty harmless. Since I found several in Korea I can only assume it's U.S.

-The detonator you found is from a 81mm Gr34 German Mortar shell.

Hell, I see someone beat me to it, but it is a Crotal Bell...these were used from the 1500s until today..of course your is older...
They are found all over the wrold, I have dug several here in Canada, and I have see them dug in the US and UK...Mostly used on horses.
