Hello mates, friends and fellow enthusiasts. Long time lurker, first post. We have explored all over the Nevada desert and with particular interest in emigrant trails. Below are several surface finds over the last decade on the deadly '40 mile desert.'

mystery find-- partial pistol
The Black Rock Desert was used for airel gunnery practice circa 1942. 1000 upon 1000s of ozidized .50 BMG brass all over the place. They rise and sink depending on moisture content of playa surface.
Located under an old outhouse. cylinder fused in open position. looks like .38 cal Colt
Found this under a very remote abandoned mining cabin in central Nevada. barrel bent, breech partially open. hexagonal barrel.
Hiking along a drained lake found this-- a Cobray M/11-09. Police say it was not reported lost or stolen, so its mine. Bolt 1/2 open and after some chipping away of corrosion, the 32 rnd magazine slips right out.
