    Am suprised a collector has not jumped on this wreckage.

    It is surprising no body picked it up for parts or something. Always someone restoring something. That one in the surf looks to be pretty intact.

    Here is a photo I took last year of "Glacier Girl" a P-38 that was salvaged from under the ice cap. Then totally rebuilt to flying status. It was supposed to fly to the UK last year but engine problems nixed that. I thought they would try again this year(the owner said) but I don't know what ever became of those plans. The aircraft was under a lot of ice when recovered and required extensive rebuild. Maybe more intact than the one from Alaska but I am also suprised no one has recovered it yet.
