Was the tail shot or did that happen on impact with earth?
Am suprised a collector has not jumped on this wreckage.

Here is a photo I took last year of "Glacier Girl" a P-38 that was salvaged from under the ice cap. Then totally rebuilt to flying status. It was supposed to fly to the UK last year but engine problems nixed that. I thought they would try again this year(the owner said) but I don't know what ever became of those plans. The aircraft was under a lot of ice when recovered and required extensive rebuild. Maybe more intact than the one from Alaska but I am also suprised no one has recovered it yet.
Was that at Oshkosh bygosh?
