Inside the display at "Fort Perch Rock", is a huge Thunderbolt Engine with Propeller.

It was "lost" on the 19/4/1944 when it failed to return from a test flight from Burtonwood, Warrington.

It crashed at Saughall Massie, Wirral at 15.08.

The Pilot: 2nd Lt. Jay Simpson died, aged just 27years old.

No real reasons why this plane crashed..
