    No, its not the roof off my back shed ...... honest!

    Its a fairly large piece of skinning from the workhorse of the Luftwaffe, the JU-52

    This piece came from a seller in Volgograd and while it cannot be proven, probably from one of the many that operated out of Tatsinskaya or Pitomnik Airfields ( 70 were lost at Tatsinskaya alone when it was overrun )

    The JU-52 was indispensable in supplying Paulus' encircled 6th Army and evacuating the wounded.

    Anyway, just an interesting relic to add to my wall....... ... hope it is of interest to others?

    I'd say that looks authentic enough - unkind souls will jeer and say it's a bit of old corrugated iron but the gauge of the alloy, traces of paint and close-set, domed rivets look typical and make for an evocative Eastern Front relic.

    The rivets used are aircraft type so I wouldn't be worried too much, nice relic !
