Some Libyan Wrecks

Article about: Hello All, Was in SE Libya a few years ago and saw some interesting things. As well as WW2 stuff, there was lots wreckage from the 'Toyota Wars' of the 80's involving Libya and Chad. Pics su

    I sometimes keep stuff, but of course never munitions. I never dig. I usually consider surface finds fair game, anywhere. It seems to be in hindsight I am a keener collector from my armchair....... Sometimes if one sees something on the ground when one is hot and tired, one has the feeling 'leave it, that the item belongs there'. Not always!

    Small collection. Notable Italian para boot sole, goggle rims, possible latch to German field telephone(?)..I leave the rest to you to ID

    Shoulder title and flaming grenade gifts from local friends. There is a high salt content in the surface soil in that region, nearly all steel items seem to have long rusted away.

    some rubber bits, one piece I suspect from a tank wheel, one at bit from a tank tread and one from a Dominion Royal tyre. And a bakelite piece.
