Funny pineapple grenade above, classic as used in tropical climate? The british were still using a grenade at the start of WW1, the No 15 ball grenade that used a fuse similar to the "unidentified grenade", just an example you might to search from
[QUOTE=packin9;21104]I tried to look for one like it but no luck. Maybe there's one in this group.[/QUOT
Amazing collection of grenade you have packin9 !! very impressive !
Its Turkish ,theres an almost identical one shown on this link http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/uniden...hlight=turkish
From the finer frag pattern, it looks more like an early Japanese use version which does not rule out European manufacture. The other possible country of origin - perhaps Polish, depending on thread pattern.
This picture shows the Turkish type i was talking about in my previous post,The arabic text roughly translates as "type 2 infantry grenade" i cant see any text on yours so wonder if its the same type but different maker or a later or earlier type
the photo is borrowed from Pascal post on my site
Now that sure looks like it spotter!
Thank you Spotter, now the item recognized!

This is a first ww Turkish Grenade. It should have a brass fuze and was simply lit by hand using a match or cigarette. it should also have a steel ring on the lug for carrying on the belt.
