I gather it has something to do with Sherman tank shells. Is it off of an ammo crate or something?

What size is it?
Cheers, Ade.
The term "Flashless" refers i beleive to the Target Practice round for the Sherman and can be found on some of the old US Army Target Practice ammo either impressed into the headstamping or in black stencilling. So this sure does refer to the ammo and is possibly from a storage crate of some kind. Hope this helps out if only a little. Regards, Tim.
Thanks guys. I got it from someone in E. Europe. It's flat, and about the size of a tennis ball. I've never seen one before, so that's why I posted it. This pic is slighlty larger then the real specimen because I scanned it.
